Visa
In order to enter Turkey, you will require a visa. Thankfully, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has made this process very easy and affordable.
The link below will take you to the website to fill out an application for an E-Visa. Please note that you will need your passport information ready.
The E-Visa is valid for 90 days so we recommend applying for your visa in mid-May. You will receive the E-Visa via email.
Please save this email along with any attachments for your records to present upon your entry to Turkey.
Getting Around Istanbul
Do not use Uber / Lyft - these services are illegal in Turkey and are enforced very strictly with hefty fines.
The hotel concierge will be happy to call a taxi for you.
However, getting around Istanbul is very easy. The best way is to use official yellow taxis (which happen to be very cheap) using BiTaksi, Turkey’s premiere ride-sharing service.
BiTaksi facilitates taxi hailing, but some users have encountered problems when attempting pay with their credit cards.
We strongly recommend having some local currency in cash and coins on hand just in case there is an issue with credit card payments.
The link below will take you to the official website for BiTaksi. The app is also available for iPhone and Android. Please use the links below to access these pages.
